A lot of Star Wars fans were disappointed back in 2019 when it was announced that Visceral Games’ Project Ragtag had been cancelled, but a few days ago, it was reported that Amy Hennig—who was the creative director of Ragtag—has been tapped by Lucasfilm Games to actually continue work on the cancelled project.

New Details Revealed for Cancelled Star Wars Game Project Ragtag

Now thanks to Making Star Wars, we have some new details on Ragtag including the characters, story, and different gameplay elements that would have made the game what it was.

Though we don’t expect the upcoming project to be exactly what Ragtag was supposed to be, I think it’s safe to think they’re going to be keeping some elements from the original game. That being said, maybe it’s best not to delve too much into this info since it does spoil a lot.

Basically, the story takes place between the events of A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, in which the Empire is suddenly tightening its grip on its remaining systems after the Death Star was destroyed. The story would have us follow Dodger Boon, a fast-talking smuggler with a lightwip—essentially bringing together the characters of Indiana Jones and Han Solo.

Along for the ride are Boon’s crew Robie, Lunak, and the droid Doc. There’s also the princess character of Oona who was said to have been based on Gillian Jacobs (Community) in the concept art.

There is a lot of the game that has been revealed on MSW, but like I said, it could spoil the upcoming game that’s back on track. If you really want to delve into it though, you can always check here.

No release date has been set for Hennig’s upcoming Star Wars project, but hopefully we don’t have to wait too long before the release.
