With HBO Max making a big fuss over the 20th Anniversary of Harry Potter, a lot of Wizarding World fans thought that December 2021 was going to give us a good look at Hogwarts Legacy via The Game Awards. TGA just came and went with no update, but rumor is going around that we could get a new look at the wizarding game later this month.
Insiders (via GameFragger) have reported that we could be getting our next look at Hogwarts Legacy during PlayStation’s State of Play later this January.
When asked by a follower on whether there would be an update to Hogwarts, Henderson had replied that he was alluding to it when he said that something ‘pretty big’ was going to be revealed at State of Play.
Another account that covers the game industry @AccNgt, has also teased that we could be getting our next reveal for Hogwarts early this year—which lines up with Henderson’s tease. The same account also says that we could be getting the game sometime around Q3 of 2022.
Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed, but after the hype of the last Potter anniversary, you would think that WB would want to rude that train to promote Hogwarts Legacy. If we don’t get anything in State of Play, I suspect a reveal could come sometime around April, near the release of the next big Wizarding World entry, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
Then again, it’s just speculation.
No release date has been set for Hogwarts Legacy, but the game is expected to be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4|PS5, and PC sometime this year. State of Play 2022 takes place on Jan. 24.
