Batman may not be getting a new game soon, but his protégés are set to take center stage with WB Montreal’s upcoming Gotham Knights. The game is set to launch later this month, and to hype up the release, we have a new look at the gameplay.
Watch this:
Though we have gotten character deep-dives for Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, and Red Hood before, this one kind of breezes past the specifics and gives us a general idea of what we can expect from the game, from combat to traversal.
While the Court of Owls has also been given the focus when it comes to the game, this trailer does give us new looks at some other Batman rogues including Harley Quinn, Clayface, Mr. Freeze, and the Penguin.
While Gotham Knights isn’t necessarily Arkham, it does promise a whole new take on the genre that Arkham had kicks-started—only this time, we get to pick between four different characters, and each of them will have a unique play-style, depending on how you choose to develop them.
I’m just here hoping we have a fresh story that comes along with the new Gotham of the game.
The Knight has fallen over Gotham and a new guard must rise. It’s Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin’s turn to be the protectors that Gotham needs. It’s up to them to watch over each other and keep Gotham safe. The Knight is theirs.
Gotham Knights launches for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 this coming Oct. 25.
