Nintendo Drops Official Title and Release Date for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel

Though PlayStation has been going on with their State of Play reveals, Nintendo has decided to officially announce the title of the Breath of the Wild sequel as well as its release date. Watch out for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom which is set to come out on May 12, 2023. Watch this:

Here’s the official description:

In addition to the vast lands of Hyrule, the latest entry in the storied Legend of Zelda series will take you up into the skies! Look forward to Link’s massive adventure starting again when The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, drops for Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.

Previous trailers for the game have shown us Link falling through the sky and a new way to traverse levels, and this time we actually have confirmation that sky travel will be one of the main things about this upcoming sequel.

Storywise, we should always expect a Legend of Zelda entry to shake up the lore a bit, but for now, I guess we should expect a straight-up continuation of the story that was started when Breath of the Wild launched back in 2017.

The game is now available to put on your wishlist, and to find out more info about it, you can check out the official Nintendo site here.

Catch The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom when it launches for the Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.
