Here’s the official description:

Alabasta, Water Seven, Marineford, Dressrosa – The Straw Hat Crew’s adventure on Waford will take them on a journey through their memories of these four unforgettable ONE PIECE Arcs.

  • Help Vivi save the country of Alabasta from a civil war orchestrated by Crocodile and Baroque Works
  • Explore a beautiful metropolitan city and fight to rescue your crewmates from CP9 in Water Seven
  • Join the Paramount War and attempt to stop Ace’s execution at the hands of the Marines at their stronghold, Marineford
  • Team up with Rebecca, Sabo, and Trafalgar Law to save the city of Dressrosa from destruction at the hands of Doflamingo

Even though Odyssey was announced months ago, this is the first time we actually get into the meat of the story, which will have Luffy and his gang revisiting their most famous story arcs. Though the initial synopsis did reveal that the Straw Hats will be stick in an island, we didn’t know that they would be bombarded with memories of their previous fights.

With some original character designs from One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda, we should expect Odyssey to be a fun adventure for die-hard fans of the franchise. Who knows, maybe it can even be a great jumping off point for anyone unfamiliar with One Piece who wants in on the action.

One Piece Odyssey launches for PlayStation 4|5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S on Jan. 13, 2023.
