Sims 4 players were treated to a big free update earlier this week, but what EA didn’t expect was this odd little bug that essentially promoted incest within the game.
As spotted by PC Gamer, some players have spotted a weird bug in Sims 4 which has Sims being attracted to their own family members. As it turns out, this was a side effect of the new Want feature which gives Sims particular goals that players can try to achieve. The problem was, nobody thought that the Sims would start ‘wanting’ their own relatives.
Apparently the issue is already being addressed by the developers, and the latest update has managed to remove the incest bug in the game:
You can read the full patch notes here which states that Sims will now have ‘appropriate’ romantic targets. Besides being attracted to relatives, the bug also has teens getting attracted to adults and vice versa—which the game obviously can’t have. Inappropriate romantic notions aside, the devs have also addressed an issue where some Sims would start aging rapidly.

The Sims 4 is currently playable for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and MacOS.
