SEGAis set to release Sonic Frontiers next month, and while things look to be going smoothly, director Morio Kishimoto has confirmed one major milestone for the game.
In a recent tweet, he says (translated) that the game has finished development and that ‘Mastering all hardware is complete’. He also apologizes that the developers weren’t able to address all of the fan feedback, but he’s sure that they’ve done everything they could before the game officially launches.
Here’s his post:
You’d think that they should have announced the game going gold earlier, but I guess they still managed to make their deadline without having to delay the release of the game. Hopefully by the time of release Sonic Frontiers would feel like a complete game that won’t have too much bugs (something that a lot of modern releases tend to have when it comes to rushing toward a deadline).
With Sonic Frontiers, SEGA is looking to usher in a new era of Sonic by giving him an open-world adventure. Hopefully fans will be ready for this larger world when the game releases next month.
In Sonic Frontiers, you’ll need every tool at your disposal to defeat the powerful enemies that await you on the Starfall islands. Luckily Sonic came prepared! With new, upgradeable combat abilities, you have more options than ever before to approach battles YOUR way. Use all of these skills and more to become the most formidable force on the frontier!
Sonic Frontiers launches for PC, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on Nov. 8.
