A lot of Marvel fans are excited for the release of Spider-Man 2 on the PS5 this year, and though we have yet to get a full trailer, a new ESPN ad has Spidey and Miles Morales swinging in live-action.
Check this out:
We don’t really get any new details for the game, but you can probably treat the ad as some kind of in-universe news report. While we’ve had a sole Spider-Man swinging around New York City for a while, it’s going to be interesting to see just how people will react to two Spider-Men. I mean, are they both going to be called Spider-Man? Should Miles get a different ‘Spider-sona?’
Despite the game hyping up the arrival of Venom, we don’t really see any of him in the ad. Though Venom is considered to be one of the main adversaries in this game, we should expect a handful of villains to show up and cause all kinds of trouble for Spidey. The full preview had a voiceover from who sounded like Kraven the Hunter, and while we expect Kraven to clash with Spidey, I also like the idea of him somehow being tangled with Venom as well.
The game is expected to launch this September for the PS5. Though the ad says that it releases in Spring, some fans had pointed out that it’s an Australian ad, and spring around there takes place in September. Hopefully we get a new look around March, or maybe sometime in June during E3 2023.
Spider-Man 2 launches for the PS5 on Sept. 3, 2023.
