Ghostwire: Tokyo didn’t exactly make waves when it launched last year, but this upcoming update dubbed the Spider’s Thread Update should turn a few heads.
Check out the launch trailer:
Return to Tokyo and explore a supernatural city teeming with yokai, evil spirits, myths and urban legends in Ghostwire: Tokyo’s new Spider’s Thread update.
Available NOW for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, this free update for Ghostwire: Tokyo features new enemies, combat skills, areas to explore, side missions, extended story cinematics, Photo Mode enhancements and more!
The new game mode being teased in the trailer is actually a roguelite mode that lets players handle procedurally generated waves of enemies, expecting each floor to have different challenges. We also have a new map for the game which teases a haunted school—a staple in Japanese horror movies if there was one.
We don’t know how much hype the new update could be able to generate for Ghostwire, but the game definitely has a unique feel, and the neon Japanese horror element is definitely not something we’ve seen before. Maybe Bethesda just needs to work on a spinoff anime to generate hype? I mean, it worked for Cyberpunk 2077 with the Edgerunners anime.
Something different is looming in Tokyo. New otherworldly threats, strange occurrences and ghostly sightings have been spotted in the city – are you ready to dive into the unknown and save the day?
The Spider’s Thread Update is now available for free. Ghostwire: Tokyo is currently playable for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
