Turtle Power doesn’t just come from turtles thanks to this new DLC for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge.

Splinter Joins the Fray in New Announcement from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge

In this new character announcement, we get to have the turtle master Splinter joining the fight against Shredder and the threat of his Foot Clan. Watch this:

Master Splinter’s calm, thoughtful nature makes him more collected than most of his green pupils, but his mastery of ninja arts ensures that he’s a formidable powerhouse. He dishes out particularly powerful attacks with his trusty staff and wide-reaching special ninja moves, bashing through groups of enemies as efficiently as the Turtles chowing down on a pizza.

Already, you can see that Shredder’s move set is kind of an homage to several other video game characters in the retro arcade genre. You don’t think Capcom is going to sue DotEmu for giving a rat Ryu’s Tatsumaki Senpukyaku?

With April being a playable character in the game, it’s curious who else could be coming to the roster of Shredder’s Revenge. Casey Jones is a no-brainer, but what about samurai rabbit Miyamoto Usagi?

Inspired by the Turtles’ iconic 1987 design, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge brings New York City’s most righteous ninjas to life with gorgeous pixel art that’d look right at home in your favorite retro arcade. From showdowns with infamous rivals like Bebop and Rocksteady to returns to signature locales like Dimension X, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a bodacious celebration of classic TMNT beat-em-ups with its own modern touches.

No release date has been announced for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, but the retro arcade beat-em-up hits the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC sometime this year.
