We’ve head games with ridiculous premises before like a goat simulator or an Untitled Goose Game, but independent developer Daniel Deentremont promises another unique experience with his upcoming sandbox title.
Become a literal armed rodent in this first trailer for Squirrel with a Gun:
This is the description of the game from IGN:
It is not easy, but it’s fun, to be a squirrel with a gun. Squirrel with a Gun is a sandbox game that focuses on exploration and shooting combat, where players are cast as a squirrel who can use a gun.
We can’t really expect this game to have some kind of serious story, but the trailer does give us a look at what could happen within the game. Besides holding a variety of guns, it looks like the squirrel can also run away with all different kinds of items like phones and cakes. You can even scare civilians when you point your Glock at them.
Besides violence, the squirrel can actually use its guns for traversal, and each gun has a different way of launching the squirrel in the air This should come in handy for some puzzle levels within the game where you have to unlock some kind of hologram acorn.
We don’t really know how the game will do on launch, but you can bet that a lot of people are already interested just based on the ludicrous premise.
No release date has been set for Squirrel with a Gun, but you can wishlist the game now on Steam.
