A lot of fans were surprised in Jedi: Fallen Order when Darth Vader suddenly showed up to kill Cal Kestis, and though Cal survived, there’s a chance he could be running into another Sith legend in the sequel to Fallen Order, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
As per Shepshal Nick on the Xbox Era Podcast (via Bespin Bulletin), the OG Phantom Menace could be making an appearance in the Fallen Order sequel. “I had heard that Darth Maul might be in it, but that doesn’t line up with the timeline does it?” said Shepshal.
Since the Star Wars Jedi games take place after the Revenge of the Sith timeline, it’s possible that we could be meeting Maul during the days where he is running the crime syndicate Crimson Dawn. We don’t know exactly how he found himself as the leader of that gang, but I’m sure there’s a lot of room to fill up that story—especially since we were supposed to see more of him anyway, but the Solo sequels were canned.
Going back to Cal though, the first game had ended with him on a journey to find other Force-sensitive children; which will likely get him in the way off the Sith Inquisitors, who are also searching for the same thing. While Inquisitors could be a tad repetitive when it comes to the story, I think Cal could find himself taking on the Star Wars underworld. Hopefully we’ll see some more familiar faces and cameos in the game; even for just a little while.
Nothing official has been confirmed about Maul, but he does seem like a likely adversary when it comes to Cal’s timeline.
