A lot of fans were excited for the return of Cal Kestis in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor this March, but it looks like they’ll have to wait a little longer.
As per an official announcement from EA Star Wars, the game is going to be delayed for about six weeks, releasing on April 28,2023. Here’s the post:
The announcement confirms that the main content for the game is already finished, but the developers have some more work to do when it comes to the polishing of the game. The post reads:
The next chapter in the tale of Cal Kestis is content complete. We are now focused entirely on the final stage: bug fixes to enhance performance, stability, polish, and most importantly, player experience.
Interestingly enough, the first game, Fallen Order, was said to have released with the developers aware of the existing bugs, but since it was already playable, they decided to push through with the launch. Though there were a lot of reports of some bugs when the game came out, the Star Wars brand was still a major draw, and the game was a huge success, spawning the upcoming sequel.
There are some fans who actually think that the game is just alright and the huge success could just be attributed to the Star Wars branding, but I’m hoping that Survivor manages to build on the strengths of Fallen Order and improve on its flaws as well.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor comes out for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on April 28.
