Overwatch has its own established lore, but the developers at Blizzard have been known to have fun with seasonal costumes for the characters.

Starwatch: Overwatch 2 Goes Sci-Fi in New Motion Comic

To get into the spirit of their sci-fi-inspired season, we have a new motion comic called Starwatch: An Echo of Hope, and it tells a story featuring all the characters with their new sci-fi-themed skins from the current season. Watch this:

The official description reads:

Relentless rule clashes with righteous rebellion in Starwatch: An Echo of Hope, the newest comic from the Overwatch universe.

A rebellion brews as the tyranny of the Infinite Empire runs rampant over the galaxy. Led by Bonebreaker, the Watchers set out to end Galactic Emperor Sigma’s reign, save 3CH-0, and forge a better future for all.

Join the fight in-game! Defend the galaxy and earn free rewards in Galactic Rescue, now live in the Arcade as part of the Starwatch Event.

I’ll admit, the sci-fi skins already draw enough interest, but it’s always great to get these supplementary materials that feature all the characters. It’s kind of how the Junkenstein’s Revenge event also has its own loose, non-canon story just to add more context to the season’s cosmetics.

Make sure to check out Galactic Rescue before the season ends.

Galactic Rescue is now available. Overwatch 2 is playable now for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
