A rumor was going around earlier this year that Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad game would be delayed, but since we had no official updates from the studio, it looked like nothing was going to happen. Now Rocksteady’s co-founder Sefton Hill has indeed confirmed that we will have to wait a little longer before we can ‘Kill the Justice League.’
Hill posts:
Seeing as this is the same studio that brought us the Arkham franchise, you can bet that the pressure is on when delivering something for Suicide Squad. It is also worth noting that not everyone loved Arkham Knight, so Rocksteady’s last solid win with the fanbase was when they released Arkham City, which was more than a decade ago.
Though the game has been delayed, fans still have a chance to get some Arkham-like action with the upcoming Gotham Knights. Sure it is not expected to have the same bells and whistles that Suicide Squad was going to have, but it should be an excellent return to formula for fans of the Arkham series. Hopefully, it also comes with a great adaptation of the Court of Owls storyline.
Discover the origins of Amanda Waller’s infamous Task Force X (a.k.a. the Suicide Squad) as Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark begrudgingly embark on their mission to take down the World’s Greatest DC Super Heroes, The Justice League. Featuring an original narrative set within an expansive open-world city of Metropolis, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League puts the four DC Super-Villains on a collision course with an invading alien force and DC Super Heroes. They are now laser-focused on destroying the city they once vowed to protect. The Suicide Squad must be mindful of the lethal explosives implanted in their heads that could go off at the first sign of defiance.
No specific release date has been set for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but you can expect it on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC sometime in 2023.
