It’s been more than a decade since the release of Elder Scrolls V, and a lot of fans are wondering just when Elder Scrolls VI will release. The bad news is, they may just have to wait a little longer.
While some fans were hoping that they could at least get a teaser for ESVI later in the year, it’s been revealed that the game is still in its pre-production phase. This has been spotted by @bogorad222 (via GamingBolt) on the LinkedIn page of Bethesda Game Studios’ HR Generalist Fanny Manset. Here’s the post:
We don’t know exactly what stage of pre-production the game is at already, but we can imagine that it’s still at the very core parts of the game including the writing of the story, as well as general gameplay and level design.
If anything, the studio is currently focused on the release of Starfield later this year. While it may not be about dragons and magic, it does bring the studio in to a whole new sci-fi genre that’s not in a post-apocalyptic Earth.
Starfield is the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. In this next generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, create any character you want and explore with unparalleled freedom as you embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest mystery.
No release date or announce date has been set for The Elder Scrolls VI, but you can catch Bethesda’s Starfield when it launches on PC and Xbox Series X|S on Nov. 11.
