Pathea Games’ My Time at Portia is an RPG instilled with crafting sim elements. But this big and colorful world has much more to offer than creating items and building machines. You’ll also do activities like fishing, fighting enemy mobs, getting acquainted with the residents, and as the title of this article suggests, learning all the recipes that are necessary for cooking.
Food can significantly impact your state of play in My Time at Portia, just like in real life! If you already have a Cooking Set and tried putting together a meal a few times, you might be interested in learning more cooking recipes and finding out their various payoffs.
Where to Get Cooking Recipes
From cooking simple dishes like Roasted Meat to preparing intricate meals such as Bacon Fish Roll, here’s what you need to do to acquire all the cooking recipes in the game and try out all of them yourself.
Django
Django is a resident from Portia who owns The Round Table restaurant. He’s a notable person in the city, perhaps because he knows his way around cooking and finding good gossip. One of his social interactions is Recipes, and he will give you the ingredients of various dishes in exchange for money. The closer your relationship gets, the more recipes you can purchase from him.
Ack
Ack is an AI Robot you will meet after completing The Crashed Station mission. After doing several tasks for him and becoming his buddy, you can hire him to work for you as a helper or cook. Ack even has his list of recipes, and he can prepare them for you even without your providing ingredients for him.
Missions
There are Side Missions wherein residents will ask you to cook food. While the quest is active, you’ll be able to see the recipes of their requested dish in the Mission Menu. If you succeed in cooking these dishes, their cooking directions will be added to your Cooking Set’s recipe list.
Desired Dishes
As you become friends with the NPCs, some will more often than not crave certain cooked dishes. Giving them these gifts that they frequently request will hugely improve your relationship. Unfortunately, they will not give you any hint on how to cook these dishes, so we have written down all the cooked meals the NPCs will occasionally ask for, including their recipes:

The Best Cooking Recipes To Learn
With the considerable amount of cooked dishes you can produce in this game, you couldn’t possibly help but wonder which ones are the best food to stack up, just in case you need extras. Getting ingredients for cooking can be quite a hassle, after all. Below is a list of the most delectable and beneficial dishes you’d want to learn.
Roasted Pork With Honey
Roasted Pork With Honey is a dish that is relatively easy to make, and you can whip one up with two slabs of meat, a piece of fruit, and a sweet seasoning. This dish is so packed with protein that it can restore 60 of your health points. Aside from that, Siwa and Scraps are two Portian Residents who favor this delicacy. QQ would also love to have a plate of Roasted Pork With Honey daily, despite being a pig himself.
Salad
Fruit Salad and Vegetable Salad are two of the simplest dishes you can prepare in your Cooking Set. These healthy dishes will often be requested to you by young and hip residents like Antoine, Sonia, and Emily. Fruit Salad is also Sanwa and Dolly’s favorite food to munch on. However, Dolly’s mother, Carol, would prefer Vegetable Salad, probably because she thinks it’s lower in calories, and Alice would very much agree with her on this.
To make Vegetable Salad, toss in a couple of lettuce and a salad sauce in the Cooking Set. Meanwhile, you can make a Fruit Salad by putting together a piece of fruit and salad sauce. Both of these salad dishes can gradually restore your stamina when you consume them, so it wouldn’t hurt to bring tons of these when you’re out fishing or mining in the Abandoned Ruins.
Meat and Mushrooms Stew
Meat and Mushrooms Stew is another meal that can provide nutritional benefits. However, making it isn’t as simple as the formerly mentioned dishes. To cook up Meat and Mushroom Stew, you will, of course, need a slice of meat mixed with a mushroom of any sort, and it also needs to be seasoned with a sweet or salty flavoring. Eating this will restore 50 of your health points and 8 stamina points.
Meat and Mushroom Stew is preferred mainly by Oak, Siwa, and Dr. Xu. QQ and Scraps would love you and follow you to the peripheries if you give this to them daily.
Seafood Noodles
Seafood Noodles are cooked by adding flour (presumably turned into noodles), fish, and a dash of seasoning to the Cooking Set. Arlo will always have a craving for Seafood Noodles, and the same could be said for Arlo’s number one admirer, Nora. Every so often, Nurse Phyllis also likes to relish these noodles.
Seafood Noodles would also be the perfect dish to bring if you head off to the dungeons or sewers to fight monsters. It can restore 6 points of your health per second, and its effect can last for 20 seconds.
Sweet Caviar
Sweet Caviar may sound like a sophisticated and high-priced dish, but you’ll only really need two Frog Fish, one sweetener, and one herb or spice like coriander or cumin to cook this one. It is a Portian specialty loved by fishing aficionados Tody and Qiwa. Your rival, Higgins, also likes Sweet Caviar. You can give this to him every day if you want to make friends with your most significant business competitor. Moreover, eating this dish can recover 30% of your maximum health and 10% of your maximum stamina.
Fruit Tart
This sweet and tangy pastry is sold at Martha’s Bakery for 39 Gols per piece on rainy days, but you can also make one on your own. You’ll only need an egg, a jar of milk, and a fruit of any kind to bake a Fruit Tart. Carol’s Eldest daughter, Molly, loves to snack on Fruit Tarts. It’s not the most popular dessert in town, but its biggest advantage is that it can raise your Critical Chance to 15% for one minute.
Bacon Fish Roll
Bacon Fish Roll is a savory meal preferred by the heartthrob and fan-favorite Gust. Although it is not that simple to make, you can get a handful of Bacon Fish Rolls early in the game if you win a place in the Fishing Tournament held on Fishing Day. Blade Fish is one of Bacon Fish Roll’s main ingredients, along with meat, palm jujube, and seasoned with salt.
This dish can raise your defense by 45 points for 120 seconds. If you do not plan on pursuing Gust with these or giving these away as presents, you can bring them in dungeon runs and make use of their stat-enhancing benefits.
Bubblefish Stew
Bubblefish Stew is another dish that can temporarily build up your Critical Chance. Only this time, it can increase your chance to land critical hits on enemies up to 35% for 180 seconds. However, it isn’t as easy and inexpensive to make as Fruit Tarts. You’ll need two Bubble Fish, one bag of tea, and one random seasoning such as coriander or salt to cook this dish.
As you become friends with Mars, he would often hint that he craves Bubblefish Stew. His daughter, Molly, wouldn’t mind occasionally having this dish, too. Scraps the Dog absolutely adores this stew, so you can feed this to him if you’d like to pick him up off the streets. Tody also loves Bubblefish Stew as much as he loves fishing.
Spicy Stew Mix
Spicy Stew Mix is a great dish to learn if you want to enhance your attack power for a brief period. This dish is one of Arlo’s favorite buff consumables as it can give you +10 attack that can last for 180 seconds. To make Spicy Stew Mix, throw together two spicy flavorings like ginger and chili with three random ingredients of your choice. You can have fun trying out different food item combinations for this dish. Who knows, maybe you could even discover another recipe similar to Spicy Stew Mix in the process.
Strange Soup
You can tell just from the name of this dish its peculiarity in terms of meal preparation. After all, you’ll be able to cook Strange Soup with one spicy seasoning, one sweetener, one relish such as coriander, cumin, or cinnamon, and two random food items.
As strange as this soup may seem, it is an ideal consumable to bring when you go somewhere ridden with tough monsters. You’ll gain a +10 defense buff upon eating Strange Soup. Also, Merlin and Nora are the only two Portian residents who would appreciate getting this dish.
