We just got a gameplay update for Skull & Bones last week, but it looks like the game has fallen into some murky water.
As reported by PlayStation Lifestyle, the highly anticipated pirate game from Ubisoft has had its pre-orders pulled from the PS Store, and fans who had pre-ordered the game have been receiving automatic refunds.
We don’t know officially why the refunds were automatically put in place, but it’s speculated that it could be because of the delay of the game. Originally set for a March 9 release, Skull & Bones was said to have been pushed back to early 2024. As of now, the game on the PS Store reads a release for 2023.
With the game promising a massive sandbox where players can play pirates, a delay is not entirely out of the question. Let’s just hope that Ubisoft has a more firm handle on development before they announce the final release date. Even then, we should still expect the game to have all kinds of patches upon release.
Here’s the official description for Skull and Bones:
Enter the perilous paradise of Skull & Bones, as you overcome the odds and rise from an outcast to become an infamous pirate. Assemble your very own formidable fleet and use it to build your empire in a visceral world that introduces new challenges, stories and features every season. Gather resources, craft tools and weapons, build your ships and grow your infamy. From the Coasts of Africa to the tropical islands of the East Indies, establish your pirate network and build your own empire on your journey to dominate the Indian Ocean.
Skull and Bones is set to launch for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S this 2023.
