Rick and Morty may be coming back this September, but Justin Roiland has another project that fans are curious about.
High on Life is a shooter which has players take control of these talking, sentient alien guns, and we have a look at some gameplay thanks to gamescom 2022. Watch this video courtesy of GameSpot:
The game essentially has everything you can expect from a Roiland project. Besides the kooky aliens and the sci-fi setting, you also have a lot of meta humor, from your gun talking about killing kids and how it affects the rating of the game, to the villains awkwardly mumbling how they think they’re the most difficult enemies that you’ll face.
High on Life was originally supposed to come out this October, but it seems that the release has been pushed back to December. You’d think that they would like to hype up the project close to the September release of Rick and Morty 6, but I guess it’s also great to space out these properties from one another so fans don’t feel smothered.
Hopefully we get a new look at some of the other weapons soon.
From the mind of Justin Roiland comes High On Life. Humanity is being threatened by an alien cartel who wants to use them as drugs. It’s up to you to rescue and partner with charismatic, talking guns, take down Garmantuous and his gang, and save the world!
High on Life launches for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC this Dec. 13.
