The release of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is almost here, and while fans are still confused as to what to expect with the game, Nintendo has dropped a full Overview Trailer that gives us a look at characters, gameplay, and the lore of the world Aionios.
Watch this:
The story and setting feel pretty much like a fantasy anime, with a group of friends, each with special abilities, going on a journey to defeat the evil organization.
I guess what’s cool about the world is the concept of interlinking. You can take any two characters in the part and form a powerful creature called an Ouroboros that can deal some devastating attacks in the battlefield. It’s basically the same concept of Gems fusing in Steven Universe.
Though there are a fixed six members of your party, you can also pick a seventh hero to join you in the fight, but you can only use them one at a time.
Here’s the official description:
Join Noah and Mio, members of the two opposing nations of Keves and Agnus, on a heartfelt journey through a rich open world to end the cycle of violence. A group of six characters from these nations join together to awaken the colonies of Aionios and expose the true threat both nations face. Traverse massive, fantastical landscapes as you learn how this game connects to the larger Xenoblade Chronicles™ story.
Command six characters and seamlessly enter real-time, RPG combat
All six of your core party members jump into action against enemies, auto-attacking with their distinct arts and weapons. Position your team to take advantage of Arts and maximize damage and debuffs. Pairs of characters can Interlink to form a mighty Ouroboros capable of taking down the most threatening enemies with powerful Arts.
