Disney Infinity may be long gone, but that doesn’t mean the studio is done with open worlds filled with their beloved IP. Disney Dreamlight Valley just launched for all major consoles, and we have a gameplay overview for this Sims-meets-Disney-meets-Animal Crossing game.
Watch this:
Like Animal Crossing, the game isn’t really so much about combat, but rather building a community around these established Disney characters. Not only can you interact with the ‘heroes’ of their franchises, but you can even get quests and tasks from classic Disney villains.
Besides being able to customize your avatar, you also get to furnish your own home, and add all kinds of things to the valley inspired by the different worlds of Disney. What’s cool is, you can even craft your own furniture to fill your home, and even cook a variety of dishes to keep your very own Disney sim alive and happy.
It looks like a pretty casual game, but I’m sure that a lot of gamers will love all the customization and character interactions with famous faces. Knowing Disney, there should be a bunch of expansions being planned on the way that would keep expanding the world—depending on how successful the game is in a year.
Discover the magic that memories hold as you embark on an enchanting journey, and explore rich stories in a village of your own design, alongside some of Disney and Pixar’s most beloved characters in this new life-sim adventure game. Welcome to Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is currently available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4|5.
