While being a man out of time has been Captain America’s main shtick when it comes to the MCU, he does have an interesting potential for stories when it comes to his WII days—which is what Skydance is thinking with their upcoming game.

Watch Teaser for Upcoming Black Panther/Captain America Game

Thanks to the D23 Expo, we have a look at this untitled Marvel game from Skydance New Media, and it promises to allow players to take control as Captain America, Black Panther, and two unnamed characters. Check out the teaser:

Here’s the official description:

Four Heroes. Two Worlds. One War. In collaboration with Marvel Games, Skydance New Media is proud to share the first look at our new AAA game with an ensemble cast and original story set in our unique Marvel Universe.

While we do have a playable Captain America and Black Panther in Square Enix’s Avengers game, this looks to be a completely different animal, what with the WWII setting. I have a feeling this could be a narrative-driven duck-and-cover shooter, with some plans to make it available for multiplayer; then again, it could be first-person, but I think they would want to bank on being able to give Cap and BP some interchangeable costumes.

Then again, if games like The Last of Us can just focus on narrative with very little focus on cosmetics, I think they could do the same with a WWII-based game, what with so much potential for a dark story.

Until they reveal more, I guess we’ll just wait and see what happens.

No release date or title has been announced for Skydance New Media’s upcoming Marvel game.
