Forspoken isn’t the only AAA fantasy IP making its debut this year. Dynasty Warriors developers Omega Force are also giving us Wild Hearts which looks like a cross between Monster Hunter and Ghost of Tsushima, and we just got a new story trailer diving into the world of Minato and its characters.
Check this out:
The official video description reads:
Enter the village of Minato to meet the allies who will aid you in your hunt and help you protect the people of Azuma in WILD HEARTS™. Meet Natsume, Ujishige and more, from blacksmith to scientist, each one will be crucial to your survival against the fierce Kemono. The villagers, together with your fellow hunters and the ancient technology known as Karakuri, will help you emerge victorious against even the most powerful of beasts.
Though I imagine that the game has an emphasis on players creating their own characters, there will always have to be common NPC to help bring the world to life. While the game could have just gave us some random characters providing the upgrades and context for the story, it’s pretty neat that we can also invest in some characters as we progress through the game.
If Forpsoken wasn’t really your thing when it launched, Wild Hearts promises a completely different experience set in a lush fantasy world. Though the visuals of Tsushima were amazing, the developers are really going all out with this setting of Minato, and sometimes classical paintings come to life.
Master ancient tech to hunt down giant beasts. WILD HEARTS™ is a unique twist on the hunting genre where technology gives you a fighting chance against fearsome beasts infused with the ferocious power of nature itself. Take on these creatures alone or hunt with friends in seamless co-op.
Developed by Omega Force, the Japanese studio behind the DYNASTY WARRIORS franchise and in partnership with EA Originals, WILD HEARTS takes you on an epic adventure set in a fantasy world inspired by feudal Japan.
Wild Hearts launches for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on Feb. 17.
