Xbox FPS Boost List: Every game that supports the feature

The Xbox FPS Boost feature is kind of stunning when you think about it. The technical wizards over at Microsoft somehow figured out a way to increase the frame rates in last-gen titles without the original developers having to do any work. So often, those devs can’t go back to their past projects even if they want to. In the constantly churning machine that is the games industry, the edict is usually “move forward” — you know, unless you can sell a remaster or something.

Fortunately, FPS Boost is here to work its magic. And recently, Microsoft has been increasing the number of games that support the feature at a pretty steady clip. So we thought, why not make that list a bit easier for people to find? And on top of that, why not help them see which supported games they can already play for free?

Below, you’ll find our official Xbox FPS Boost List. The two columns next to the game’s title show whether the feature works on Xbox Series X and Series S, and at what refresh rate you’ll be able to play those games. (Just assume “hz” is “FPS” and you’ll understand it a bit easier.) Off in the last column, you’ll see whether or not the game is available in Xbox Game Pass or EA Play.

The future of the list

Going forward, we’re interested in building out the Xbox FPS Boost List more like we plan to build out Xbox Game Pass List — that is, we’d like to bring some more technology into the equation and present things in a neater way.

The list is pretty basic at the moment, as the number of titles support FPS Boost is pretty small. Over time, though, we expect the list to become more unwieldy. That’ll make enhancements necessary. So we’d like to get ahead of the curve on that.
