Nothing says the 90s like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Dotemu and Tribute Games have teamed up for retro game called TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. The game is set to come out later in the year, and we have a new behind-the-scenes looks with studio heads Jean-Francois Major and Cyrille Imbert.
Watch this:
In a rare behind the scenes video, filmed in the Tribute Games’ studio, Co-Founder Jean-Francois Major and Dotemu CEO Cyrille Imbert discuss their lifelong dreams of working on a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. After creating a string of acclaimed hits with the talent at Tribute Games (amongst other studios), Major joined forces with Dotemu to navigate the years of discussions to secure the rights to a new outing based on the Turtles’ timeless 1987 designs.
As we’ve seen in previous trailers, Shredder’s Revenge really draws its influence from the ’89 game, but it’s been given a modern redesign when it comes to characters and gameplay. While the music and overall feel is retro, we do get some additional gameplay elements, as well as the option to play different characters like Splinter and April O’Neil.
Like with every nostalgia property, there is a lot of hype being built for this game, but the studio is yet to reveal any specific release date. While a safe bet is that the game will release later in the year, I’m hoping that we can get our hands on Shredder’s Revenge around the beginning of summer.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is set to come out this year on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One.
