It’s been 14 years since the release of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and now Nintendo Switch fans can finally get in on the adventures of Vader’s secret apprentice Galen Marek.
Watch the launch trailer for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on the Nintendo Switch:
You are Starkiller, Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, who has been trained to hunt down and destroy the Jedi. Take advantage of devastating Force powers and lightsaber combos to do Darth Vader’s bidding.
The game also takes a leaf out of the Wii version’s book and will allow you to use motion controls when Starkiller is unleashing his powers on his enemies. You can even challenge a friend to 1v1, and you can take control of different characters like Vader and Darth Maul.
Fun fact, Sam Witwer, who plays Starkiller in the game, also provides his voice for Maul in The Clone Wars and Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Force Unleashed has always been one of the more celebrated Legends properties before Disney’s acquisition of Star Wars. Marek is essentially a fan insert character, and players get to choose what path he would go to by the end of the game—would he help the Rebellion and save the galaxy? Or will he give in to his rage and fall into the Dark Side?
Who knows, maybe with enough hype, Marek could find his way into the official Disney canon in the future. I mean, Thrawn could make it, why can’t Starkiller?
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is now available on the Nintendo Switch.
