Clear out corners and cubbies quickly with these Fade Lineups on Split.
Split is one of the tightest-feeling maps in the VALORANT map lineup. Almost every lane is met with tight corners and cubbies, making it extra tricky for the Attacking team to make anything happen early in the round.
Recon Agents such as Sova and Skye do their best work in wide-open spaces where Recon Bolt and Trailblazer can freely take space and gather information around the map. However, this will not be the case with Split’s tight layout.
Fortunately, the newest Initiator Agent, Fade, is equipped with a potent recon ability to scan and track enemies around Split’s tight corners and cubbies when lined up correctly.
We have compiled the best Fade lineups on Split Attacking in this guide.
How to Use Fade’s Haunt Ability?
Pressing the [E] button on your keyboard will equip Fade’s Haunt ability – a cooldown-based recon ability that can reveal and mark enemy locations exposed by its “watcher.”
Fade Haunt Ability Details:
- Duration: 2 seconds;
- Cooldown: 40 seconds;
- Health: 1 HP;
- Effects: Reveals enemies caught in the ability line of sight. Enemies caught in the line of sight will be Trailed for 12 seconds.
After Fade equips her Haunt ability, she can throw the Haunt orb towards a target location. After landing, a ‘watcher’ will spawn and linger for 2 seconds and reveal anyone along its line of sight.
Fade can opt to immediately drop the orb mid-air to activate the ‘watcher’ sooner by pressing the [E] button again.
Haunt can stick and clip onto just about any horizontal surface around maps, making Fade’s Haunt a lineup-friendly ability that can be thrown towards strategic locations for early information.
Lastly, since Haunt is a cooldown-based ability, it is best to use it early in the round so that the 40-second cooldown can start counting down, which allows the user to equip Haunt again later in the round.
Best Fade Lineups on Split Attacking
Split A-site Early Information Fade Lineup
This first lineup we have for you today will cover most tight corners and cubbies within A-site. Spots such as behind the plant box, backsite, rafters, A-Tower, and Elbow will be covered by this lineup.
- Stand along with these steps at A-Main:
2. Walk forward until you are up against the wall:
3. Aim towards the bottom left corner of this signboard:
4. JUMPTHROW Fade’s Haunt Ability:
Fade’s Haunt ability should land on top of the crown when done correctly.
Split A-site Close Corners Fade Lineup
This next lineup is an alternative lineup that is best used to clear A-Rafters, the spot behind the plant box under A-Rafters, A-Elbow, A-Screen, and some of A-Tower.
Use this lineup to clear out tight corners before your team commits to an A-site entry.
- Stand in this corner at A-Main:

Split B-site Early Information Lineup
The most challenging part about entering B-site on Split is the tight corners that the Attacking team must worry about upon site entry.
This lineup should clear out common angles on B-site, such as the close left corner, behind the double boxes, and B-Tower.
- Stand along with these boxes at B-Lobby:
2. Aim towards the left of this pipe hanger:
3. JUMPTHROW Fade’s Haunt Ability:
When done correctly, Fade’s Haunt Ability should land on top of the green roof:
Split B-site Post-plant Fade Lineup
Fade’s Haunt is arguably more powerful when used in post-plant and retake situations, thanks to the ‘trail’ effect on tagged enemies.
This next lineup will tag Defenders around the B-Tower area, B-Alley, B-Drop, and B-Rafters, making it a great info-gathering lineup for post-plant defense.
- On post-plant, stand in this corner at B-Default:
2. Aim toward this part of the B-Pillar:
3. Throw Fade’s Haunt Ability:
When done correctly, Fade’s Haunt Ability should land on this corner on the B-Pillar:
Track and Trace
Haunt works well for revealing enemy positions around the map. However, perhaps its most powerful attribute is the ‘Trail’ status applied to any enemy caught in its line of sight. When enemies are “Trailed,” they leave behind a trail that Fade’s teammates can use to track the enemy team’s positions. In addition, Fade’s Prowlers also gain super speed and lock onto Trails left behind by enemies.
We hope you found these Fade lineups useful when playing the Attacking side on Split.
