Back in 2019, Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland gave us the VR adventure Trover Saves the Universe, and now he is back with a new game that feels like all the other material he has been putting out before.
Have a look at Roiland’s shooter, High on Life:
Here is the official description:
Humanity is being threatened by an alien cartel who wants to use them as drugs. You must rescue and partner with charismatic, talking guns, take down Garmantuous and his gang, and save the world! From the mind of Justin Roiland (Rick and Morty, Solar Opposites) comes High On Life.
In true Roiland fashion, the series comes with many kooky aliens, but instead of just shooting at them, you will be using the aliens as the weapons themselves. While we have had talking companions in games like BioShock: Infinite and God of War, it’s going to be pretty different now that you have to talk to your alien weapons.
The series has been described as ‘biopunk,’ and although we get kooky characters that are in the same aesthetic vein as Rick and Morty, they still have some more sleek and serious science fiction elements.
Hopefully, with a release set for this fall, we get another look at the game sometime around July or August. Maybe they can release it alongside the next Rick and Morty season (whenever that’s going to happen).
High on Life is set to be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and will release this coming October.
