Run all you want, but you can’t hide from Cypher on Icebox.
Cypher thrives on maps with tight corners and lanes, such as Icebox. Cypher players can get super creative with these maps’ Trip Wire, Cybercage, and Spycam setups.
Thanks to Cypher’s Spycam, defending either A-site or B-site and Middle should be very doable. For example, Cypher can hang out on A-site and use his Spycam to watch middle and A-site alternatively. The same can be done for B-site as well.
With this in mind, we have compiled some of the best Cypher camera spots on Icebox so you can gain early information on the enemy team.
Best Cypher Camera Spots on Icebox A-site
A-site is going to be Cypher’s main playground on Icebox. In contrast to B-site, A-site features a ton of narrow lanes and cubbies that Cypher can use to set up Trap Wires and Cybercages.
Because of A-site’s claustrophobic layout, you will need a Spycam that can give you a bird’s eye view of the entire bombsite so you and your teammates do not get caught off guard by enemies taking the high ground on A-site.
A-Default Camera
This A-Default Cypher Camera will give you early information on incoming Attackers coming from A-Main. Don’t expect this camera to last very long after you’ve used it once since the enemy team will be very weary of this camera in subsequent rounds.
Nevertheless, confirming the presence of Attackers at A-Main should help take the guesswork off your teammates at B-site and Middle.
A-Screen Camera
If you know how to get up A-Screens, use this Cypher camera spot to get a good overhead view of the entire A-site. You should be able to spot enemy players at A-Belt and some of the Pipes with this Spycam.
Best Cypher Camera Spots on Icebox Middle
Like every other map that features a middle lane in VALORANT, Icebox’s Middle lane is essential in keeping control of the map when playing Defense. Giving up control of the Middle means giving the Attacking team a second entry lane towards A or B-site. which the Attacking team will use to flank and cut off rotation lanes toward either bombsite.
B Tube Camera
You can place Cypher’s Spycam just above B-Tube to get a good view of the Middle and some of A-Lobby. This camera should give you a good idea about how many players are playing middle.
Middle Boiler Camera
The B-Tube camera will get shot down quickly as soon as the enemy team finds its location. In that case, you can play the Spycam defensively at Middle Boiler instead.
This one will give you a good view of the entryway towards B-Orange and reveal any player entering B-Tube.
Best Cypher Camera Spots on Icebox B-site
Although A-site is arguably the best bombsite to play on as Cypher, defending B-site with your Trap Wire and Cybercage combo is still very doable. Placing your Spycam in the spot we have featured below will give you information on the incoming enemy team on Icebox’s B-site so you can activate your Cybercage as soon as the enemies are within its area.
B-site Yellow Camera
Say Freeze!
Whether you are playing A-site, Middle, or B-site on Icebox, Cypher’s Spycam can help give you a good idea of where the enemy team is on the map. You can even watch two lanes simultaneously thanks to Spycam, which should free up a few bodies on your team so the rest of your teammates can stack up around a bombsite that the enemy team has successfully taken control of in the last few rounds.
