KAYO’s early information capabilities make him a powerful Agent on Haven.
Most VALORANT players are likely CSGO veterans who have played the game for years before transitioning to Riot Games’ popular tactical FPS shooter. It was not surprising to see many players excited to play KAYO when he first came out in Episode 3 since his utility looked a lot like the type of loadout you typically see in a round of CSGO.
KAYO’s flashes are the closest you will get to a CSGO-ish-type flash in VALORANT, which is probably why most KAYO mains played him as they would back in CSGO – pop-flashing and wide-peeking 1v1 duels ala XANTARES.
Riot Games ended this in Patch 5.07 by nerfing KAYO’s right-click pop-flash and buffing his traditional left-click flash grenade, effectively punishing self-flashes yet rewarding setup flashes for his teammates.
Instant Flashes For Days
There’s a neat trick that you can try to maximize your KAYO left-click flashes on just about every map in VALORANT. The key lies in the flash grenade’s ignite distance or how far it travels before it explodes.
Try out the trick for yourself. You will find that by throwing KAYO’s flash to your target destination while ensuring the distance between you and your target is 25m; you get a guaranteed pop-flash that instantly blind enemies around the area. The magic number is 25m in-game.
KAYO Flash Lineups on Haven A-Site (Attacking)
The most hectic spots when Attacking Haven A-site are A-Sewer and A-Long. The Attacking team has to clear these areas if they want to enter the A-site safely.
You can help your teammates safely control these spots by flashing for them as they enter the area. Use the flash lineups we have listed below.

2. Aim for this spot on the wall:
3. Jumpthrow KAYO’s flash grenade:

KAYO Flash Lineups on Haven B-Site (Attacking)
There is only one lane towards B-Site, which is through the B-site entrance. You can expect the defending team to peek out from B-Entrance towards Middle Window to get a quick kill. Generally, the Attacking team will be at a disadvantage when peeking out from Middle Window since the Defending team can hold the Middle Window angle even before the barrier drops.
To counter this, use the KAYO flash lineup below to clear out the middle and take control of the Middle Courtyard area on your way to the B-site.
Middle Courtyard Flash
- Stand in this spot at A-Garden:
2. Aim for this spot on the B-site roof:
3. Left-click-throw KAYO’s flash grenade:
Garage Door Flash
- Stand in this corner in Mid Doors:
2. Place your crosshair in the middle of this small box:
3. Run forward, then jump throw KAYO’s flash grenade:
KAYO Flash Lineups on Haven C-Site (Attacking)
Attacking C-site can be unnerving because of the narrow C-Long lane that the Attacking team needs to cross before they get to C-site. The narrow lane makes it easy for the Defending to hold angles and score quick kills from the rushing Attackers.
You can throw KAYO’s flash from C-Lobby to clear out the entire C-site or just the C-Backsite area to help your team enter the bombsite safely.
C-site Entry Flash
- Stand in this corner in C-Lobby:
2. Aim for this spot on the roof:
3. Run forward, then jump throw KAYO’s flash grenade:
C-Backsite Flash
- Align yourself in the middle of this wall in C-Long:
2. Aim for the corner of the gray box in C-Default:
3. Run forward, then jump throw KAYO’s flash grenade:
Fire in the Hole
In theory, attacking bombsites on Haven will be easier than defending, as the defending team will have to split up between Haven’s multiple entryways and bombsites. Master the KAYO flash lineups featured above, and you can clear just about every entryway on the map, making it easier for your team to enter the bombsite of your choice.
