Where to Find an Alpha Machamp in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in the early days of the Pokemon universe when humans and Pokemon did not get along.

The player will join the Galaxy Expedition Team and the Survey Corps in Jubilife Village (also known as the Galaxy Team).

This game is set in the region of Hisui, which would later take the name Sinnoh in the current Pokemon universe. The player must catch every kind of Pokémon found here to fill out Hisui’s very first Pokédex.

Some Pokemon in the Hisui region are larger than their regular counterparts, have bright red eyes, and are dripping with Wild Might, improving their stats and battle skills. They are called Alpha Pokemon.

This guide will teach you where to find an Alpha Machamp in Pokemon Legends: Arceus!

Alpha Pokemon

The level of an Alpha Pokemon is always higher than its ordinary counterparts. An Alpha Pokemon will roar and send a shockwave when it is close to the player. The shockwave could stagger and knock the player to the ground if the player comes near enough.

Mantyke and Mantine are the only two who are not hostile. They never run away when encountering the player (except when the type of Alpha Pokemon appears during a certain time of day or if a Space-Time Distortion appears around them).

The player can catch it regardless of its level by engaging in battle with the Alpha Pokemon before throwing a Poke Ball.

The player can not capture them if their obedience level is significantly lower than the Alpha Pokemon’s level.

However, the player can avoid fighting Alpha Pokemon by approaching them covertly in tall grass or by employing stealth items before tossing a Poke Ball their way.

Suppose a player is having trouble catching an Alpha Pokemon. In that case, they can also raise their Star Rank, commonly known as their Survey Corps rank, by completing Research Tasks and talking to Professor Laventon in any of the Base Camps.

Three different types of Alpha Pokemon can be found in the game: fixed Alpha Pokemon, which always spawn in the same locations and have a fixed level; random Alpha Pokemon, which may only appear after the player calms the area’s agitated Noble Pokemon; and Alpha Pokemon in Massive Mass Outbreaks, which may appear as a second wave in the same location as a Mass Outbreak’s first wave.

We will only examine fixed Alpha Pokemon and an Alpha Machamp because the other two types of Alpha Pokemon are entirely random.

Alpha Machamp

Machamp is a Fighting-type Superpower Pokemon with a bluish-gray body that looks like that of a human with large muscles, two pairs of muscular arms, a pair of red eyes, yellow lips, three brown ridges on its head, a pair of feet with two toes each, black briefs, and a belt that looks like a championship belt.

According to its Pokedex entry in the game, the four arms on Machamp offer it an advantage in close offensive and defensive battles. Machamp can also quickly and easily overpower an opponent with over a thousand hits from its fists.

An Alpha Machamp can be found north of Arena’s Approach (east of Icepeak Arena or west of Avalugg’s Legacy) in the Alabaster Icelands and in the area mentioned at all times of the day and in every weather condition. The Alpha Machamp found in this location is a Level 70 Pokemon.

It is advised to sneak up behind the Alpha Pokemon utilizing long grass and/or other stealth items like Smoke Bombs, then throw the player’s Pokemon or Poke Ball on its back to catch it unawares.

Machamp prefers Springy Mushrooms, Dazzling Honey, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans if you want to use food to divert it before you catch or battle it.

Also, it is important to mention if you plan on battling it first before catching it, that Machamp, again, is a Fighting-type Pokemon, which means it is weak (super effective) to Fairy-type, Flying-type, and Psychic-type moves and resistant (not very effective) to the Bug-type, Dark-type, and Rock-type moves.

Aside from the Alpha Machamp in the location mentioned above, the regular, non-alpha Machamp can also be found in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Cobalt Coastlands and the Alabaster Icelands.

Now that the player has caught an Alpha Machamp, the player can try to use the Alpha Machamp to complete other requests, missions, or Arceus’ task for the player, which is to catch ‘em all!
