Where to Find an Alpha Froslass in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in the early days of the Pokemon universe when humans and Pokemon did not get along. This game is set in the Hisui region, later renamed Sinnoh in the Pokemon universe.

The player must catch all of the Pokémon in this region to complete Hisui’s first Pokédex, which they use to study Pokemon.

The player will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (also known as the Galaxy Team) at Jubilife Village as part of the Survey Corps, which studies every Pokemon in the region.

In the game, Alpha Pokemon are larger than regular Pokemon, have flaming red eyes, and are stuffed with Wild Might, which boosts their stats and battling abilities.

This guide will teach you where to find an Alpha Froslass in Pokemon Legends: Arceus!

Alpha Pokemon

Alpha Pokemon are always more powerful than their normal counterparts. They are all hostile, except Mantyke and Mantine, and never leave when confronted by the player (except when the type of Alpha Pokemon appears during a certain time of day or if a Space-Time Distortion appears around them).

When the player approaches an Alpha Pokemon too closely, it roars and unleashes a shockwave. The shockwave will cause the player to stumble and fall to the ground if they are too close.

Any level of Alpha Pokemon can be caught by battling them before throwing a Poke Ball. The player can avoid battling by sneaking up on Alpha Pokemon in tall grass or utilizing stealth items before tossing a Poke Ball their way.

However, if the player’s current obedience level is lower than the Alpha Pokemon’s level, they will be unable to catch them without engaging in battle.

Suppose a player is having difficulty catching an Alpha Pokemon. In that case, they can raise their Survey Corps rank by completing research tasks and talking with Professor Laventon at any base Camp.

In the game, the player can encounter three types of Alpha Pokemon: fixed Alpha Pokemon, which always spawn in the same areas and have the same level as the player; random Alpha Pokemon, which may only appear after the player calms the area’s agitated Noble Pokemon; and Alpha Pokemon in Massive Mass Outbreaks, which may appear as a second wave in the same location as the first wave of a Mass Outbreak.

Because the other two types are fully randomized, we will only look at fixed Alpha Pokemon, specifically an Alpha Froslass.

Alpha Froslass

Froslass is an Ice and Ghost type Snow Land Pokemon that floats in the air and has a hollow torso that resembles a kimono, a head with what appears to be a mask like a sideways water droplet, and horns that resemble two ice crystals.

According to the game’s Pokedex page, Froslass is a Pokemon inhabited by the soul of a lady who died while carrying a grudge in the cold mountains.

There is a legend that Froslass bestows deathly curses on unruly males.

An Alpha Froslass can be found underground in the southern part of Avalanche Slopes (east of Whiteout Valley or east of Icebound Falls) in the southwestern part of the Alabaster Icelands.

To reach this area, the player must drop down the hole in the ground on the eastern side of Avalanche Slopes.

Froslass can be found in these locations at all times of the day and in every weather condition. The Alpha Froslass found in this location is a Level 72 Pokemon.

Sneak up behind the Alpha Pokemon with long grass and/or other stealth items like Smoke Bombs, then throw the player’s Pokemon or Poke Ball onto its back to catch it off guard and ensure that the player attacks first if battling.

Froslass enjoys Crunchy Salts and Dazzling Honey, which makes them perfect lures for distracting it before catching or battling it.

Also, it is important to mention if you plan on battling it first before catching it, that Froslass, again, is an Ice and Ghost-type Pokemon that has a weakness to Dark-type, Fire-type, Ghost-type, Rock-type, and Steel-type moves (super effective), a resistance to the Bug-type, Ice-type, and Poison-type moves (not very effective), and an immunity to Fighting-type and Normal-type moves (no effect).

Aside from the Alpha Froslass that is found in the location mentioned above, the regular, non-alpha Froslass can be found in other parts of the Alabaster Icelands (in Bonechill Wastes and Avalugg’s Legacy) which can be found here in every weather condition but can only be found here at night.

Aside from that, Froslass can also be found in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Alabaster Icelands.

Now that the player has caught an Alpha Froslass, the player can try to use the Alpha Froslass to complete other requests, missions, or Arceus’ task for the player, which is to catch ‘em all!
