The events of Pokemon Legends: Arceus took place in the early years of the Pokemon universe when humans and Pokémon did not live in peace.
In the Pokemon universe, this game’s setting, the Hisui region, will eventually become the Sinnoh region. The player must capture every Pokémon in this region to complete Hisui’s first Pokédex, which is used to learn about Pokémon.
The player will be assigned a position in the Survey Corps, responsible for researching the neighborhood Pokemon, in the Jubilife Village of the Galaxy Expedition Team (also called the Galaxy Team).
In this guide, we will learn everything you need to know about Floatzel!
Floatzel
Floatzel, the 42nd Pokemon in the Hisuian Pokedex, is a Water-type Sea Weasel Pokemon with an orange body that resembles both an otter and a Weasel, two small legs with three toes on each foot, two long light brown arms with four fingers on each hand, two pointed blue fins on each of its arms, two tails with light brown tips, a yellow floatation device resembles a life vest, and that sits around its head to the front of its arms then to its back above the tail, two pointed fins on the top of its head, a light brown circle on its forehead, a small, black nose, a light brown jaw with the color going all the way down to its belly, and a marking that looks like an orange teardrop in the middle of its belly.
Floatzel, according to its Pokedex entry in the game, has a long floatation sac that keeps it from drowning even in rough seas. Floatzel can also be seen from time to time in fishing villages.
Basic Information
Floatzel is a Water-type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to Electric-type and Grass-type moves (super effective) and a resistance to Fire-type, Ice-type, Steel-type, and Water-type moves (not very effective).
Floatzel’s base stats are 85 HP, 105 Attack, 55 Defense, 85 Special Attack, 50 Special Defense, and 115 Speed, for a total of 495.
Floatzel evolved from a Buizel when it reached Level 26.
Floatzel prefers Springy Mushrooms, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans if the player wants to try to lure it with food before catching it.
When a Floatzel is beaten or caught, it is rewarded with a Medicinal Leek and a Ball of Mud.
Location
Floatzel can be found in the following locations:
Cobalt Coastlands: in Aipom Hill and Bathers’ Lagoon.
The Floatzel can be found in these locations at all times of the day and in every weather condition.
An Alpha Floatzel is located northwest of Worn Bridge (north of Deertrack Heights or south of Horseshoe Plains) in the Obsidian Fieldlands.
The Alpha Floatzel that can be found in this location is a Level 31 Pokemon and can be found here at all times of the day and in every weather condition.
Aside from that, the player can find Floatzel in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Obsidian Fieldlands and Space-Time Distortions.
Research Tasks
The following are the Research Tasks in Floatzel’s Pokedex entry:
Multiplier | Research Task | Objectives |
x2 | Number caught | 1/2/4/10/15 |
x2 | Number of alpha specimens caught | 1/2/3 |
Number defeated | 1/3/6/12/25
Number you have defeated with Grass-type moves | 1/2/5/10/20
x2 | Times you have seen it use Water Pulse | 1/3/8/20/40 |
Times you have seen it use an agile style move | 1/3/6/12/25
Number of different forms you’ve obtained | 2 |
Aside from objectives with a multiplier of x2, which boosts two Research Levels for completing one, the player must complete an objective for a specific Research Task to raise Floatzel’s Research Level by one. To complete Floatzel’s Pokedex entry, the player must reach Research Level 10.
To quickly complete Floatzel’s Pokedex entry, the player must catch two Alpha Floatzels that can be found in Worn Bridge in the Obsidian Fieldlands, which will tick the first and second objective of the “number caught” and “number of alpha specimens caught” Research Tasks and raises it to Research Level 8 thanks to the x2 multiplier, then use one of the Floatzels in battle and let it use Water Pulse, which will tick the first objective of the “times you’ve seen it use Water Pulse” Research Task, so it adds two more Research Levels also thanks to the x2 multiplier, to reach Research Level 10.
