Learn how to get and use memory fragments in Once Human to obtain blueprints for specialization and character customization.
Memetic Specialization is an extension of Memetics that offers players unique blueprint specializations to enhance their characters. Unfortunately, these blueprints are locked behind Specializations, and obtaining the best can be challenging. A great alternative is to acquire Memetic Specialization using Memory Fragments.
Farming a Memory Fragment in Once Human can be time-consuming and challenging due to its low drop rate. Many players attempt to defeat bosses on higher difficulty levels for a chance to obtain rare loot, but only a few manage to collect Memory Fragments.

How to Get Memory Fragments
The best way to get a Memory Fragment is to purchase it from other players in exchange for crafted gear, energy links, or other tradeable resources.
Alternatively, you can defeat the boss in Silo or Monolith to obtain a Specialization Memory Fragment, but the drop chances are low. You may increase the difficulty level to get better loot, but this doesn’t guarantee you’ll get a Memory Fragment.
However, if you’re farming Memory Fragments with a team, playing on a harder difficulty is recommended for better loot. Otherwise, it’s wiser to stick with Normal Mode to conserve bullets and other resources.
Here are the Best Bosses to farm:
Bosses | Details |
---|---|
Treant | Location: Gaia Cliff Monolith Loot Rewards: Weapon Mod Parts, Stardust Source, Electronic Part, Melee Amplifier |
Shadow Hound | Location: Monolith of Thirst Loot Rewards: Energy Link, Gear Mods, Weapon Mod Parts, Stardust Source, Electronic Part |
How to Use Memory Fragments
To use the obtained fragment, open your cradle by Pressing 'O'
on your keyboard and then select Memetics.
While in the Memetics window, click on the golden circle located at the top-left corner of your screen to enter the Memetic Specialization.
Click on the button located at the top-right corner of your screen. This will open a window that contains the Memory Fragment you’ve obtained. Select one and then use it to replace an existing Specialization.
Each fragments have different levels. For example, if you want to replace a Memetic Specialization for Level 30, you can’t use a memory fragment of Level 10, 15, 5, or outside its level bracket.
Important things to Note:
- Up to 3 Memetic Specialization Memory Fragments can be used per season.
- All Memetic Specialization Memory Fragments will be destroyed at the end of a season and will not be sent to the Eternaland Depot.
