Discover the mechanics of the Attack or Attacker’s base icon on the map in Once Human and its significance in the gameplay loop.

What Does the Attack Map Icon Mean in Once Human?

In Once Human, resource collection is important to stay ahead of other players. Resources can be gathered from different courses across the map, including scavenging, completing quests, or participating in special events. As you explore the map, you will notice various icons and markers, such as the ‘Attack’ or ‘Attacker’s Base’ icons, which often leave players confused and wondering about their purpose.

What Does the Attack or Attacker’s Base Mean?

The special icon on the Once Human map resembles a tent with a flag on top. Unfortunately, the game currently lacks detailed descriptions or tutorials explaining the significance of these points of interest, leaving many players guessing.

These icons are only activated on PvP servers in Once Human, signaling a PvP event. Warbands can capture these locations, triggering enemy Warbands to launch attacks and reclaim the base.

On PvE servers, players cannot participate in the event while these icons are still visible on the map. Many players have urged the developers to remove these icons from PvE servers to prevent confusion, but no action has been taken yet.

The gameplay mechanics are straightforward: when a Warband places a security outpost in one of the bases, the refinery begins producing Stardust. Stardust is crucial for strengthening both your character and Warband in Once Human. It’s a valuable material used to craft high-level items, weapons, and armor, as well as for calibrating gears.

Once an enemy Warband successfully reclaims the base and destroys the Staroid Restrainers, they’ll take a portion of the stardust you’ve accumulated. The more victories a Warband acquires from destroying Staroid Restrainers, the higher the Warband rank goes, rewarding members better rewards as the Season progresses.
