It’s not mystery that The Super Mario Bros. Movie is going to be about brothers Mario and Luigi, but the Mushroom Kingdom is full of all kinds of colorful characters.

Just in, we have a new spot highlighting Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy), and we see that she’s actually quite capable despite being a dolled-up princess. Watch this:
Previous trailers have given us a look at Peach before, but it’s this trailer that actually shows off a lot of what makes her a capable leader—what with Peach being able to fight, as well as being well-informed when it comes to the magic of her world.
We don’t know where a sequel could go yet, but knowing Mario, they could very well be building up to a huge crossover. You think a Smash Bros. film would work?
Here’s the synopsis:
While working underground to fix a water main, Brooklyn plumbers Mario (Chris Pratt; Jurassic World and The LEGO Movie franchises) and brother Luigi (Charlie Day; It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) are transported down a mysterious pipe and wander into a magical new world. But when the brothers are separated, Mario embarks on an epic quest to find Luigi.
With the assistance of a Mushroom Kingdom resident Toad (Keegan-Michael Key; The Lion King) and some training from the strong-willed ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy;The Queen’s Gambit), Mario taps into his own power.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie comes to cinemas on April 7.
