EA had been stumbling with their Star Wars license until they got a hit with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and a lot of fans have been waiting for the follow-up to Cal Kestis’ adventures. What’s interesting is, we could be getting an update early in the year.
As per insider Jeff Grubb (via GamingBible), we could get our first look at Star Wars Jedi 2 before E3 2022 (which usually happens in June). Grubb has also hinted that the game could come out later in the year, but it’s possible that it could be pushed to 2023.
If anything, Star Wars Celebration is set to happen on May 26–29, which could be the perfect time to release a new teaser for the Fallen Order sequel. Then again, the way Omicron has been pushing back several things, it’s possible that plans for SW Celebration could change depending on how the pandemic plays out.
Going back to Fallen Order though, the game pretty much had an open-ending, with Cal and the crew of the Mantis setting out to find more Force-sensitives. While the game was a hit, some critics are saying that a huge part of its success was merely because of Fallen Order being a Star Wars property; gameplay mechanics and levels tended to be repetitive.
Personally, I would want more variety to the gameplay. Maybe we can take control of Merrin or Cere. I’d love to have a level where we can control the Mantis or any other Imperial ships.
No release date has been set for the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, but you can catch Cal’s first adventure now available for PS4|PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
