The ultra-popular battle royale classic is coming to major mobile platforms this May.

Apex Legends Mobile Release Coming This Month on iOS and Android

Battle royale games on iOS and Android are not exactly avant-garde to the mobile gaming public, as multi-platform battle royale games such as PUBG and Fortnite have been out on either iOS or Android for a few years now. Throughout that period, there were no signs that their other battle royale cousin, Apex Legends, was going mobile anytime soon.

Fans were surprised when Respawn Entertainment announced a mobile version of their popular battle royale game, Apex Legends, just a few weeks ago. And just yesterday, fans finally have the confirmation they’ve always been waiting for – Apex Legends Mobile will be released in late May.

Apex Legends On-The-Go

Playing Apex Legends on mobile is genuinely game-changing for many Apex Legends fans around the world.

As many Apex fans already know, Apex Legends isn’t easy to run at acceptable frame rates with equally tolerable graphical settings on the PC. On the other hand, next-gen console players are currently having problems with performance issues in-game.

Players who don’t have to budget to build or buy a competitive desktop computer for the optimal gaming experience and those who can’t justify purchasing next-gen consoles to play Apex Legends will have to look elsewhere to get their battle royale fix.

Fortunately, Apex Legends Mobile looks very promising, and the wait won’t be long before Apex Legends fans can get their hands on the mobile version of their favorite game.

Apex Legends fans on Android can start pre-registration now through the link in the Tweet above. iOS fans will have to wait for a little longer, though, as they can currently only sign up for pre-reg updates.

Players who pre-register right now can get their hands on some awesome in-game freebies, namely the ‘Become Legendary’ Holospray and ‘Sunfire Initiate’ Pathfinder skin.

Is Apex Legends Mobile Crossplay Compatible?

Unfortunately, Apex Legends Mobile isn’t a PC or Console copy that is ported over to mobile, and Respawn Entertainment built the entire mobile game from the ground up. As such, Apex Legends Mobile will not be crossplay compatible.

What are the Minimum Requirements for Apex Legends Mobile?

You’re probably wondering whether your current iOS or Android device will be able to run Apex Legends Mobile when it finally comes out later this month. Worry no more; here are the Minimum Requirements for Apex Legends Mobile on iOS and Android.

iOS devices have always featured processing capabilities years ahead of their time. iOS devices starting from the ancient iPhone 6s are supported and should have no problems running the game at acceptable frame rates and visual fidelity.

The Minimum Requirements for Apex Legends Mobile on iOS are as follows:

  • iPhone 6s or later
  • iOS version 11.0 or later
  • CPU Apple A9 or better
  • 4GB of free storage space
  • At least 2GB RAM

On the other hand, tons of affordable Android devices with very competitive specs have surfaced in the last few years, so any relatively ‘recent’ Android device should be able to run Apex Legends Mobile at a decent graphical setting with high frame rates.

The Minimum Requirements for Apex Legends Mobile on Android are as follows:

  • SoC: Snapdragon 435/Hisilicon Kirin 650/Mediatek Helio P20/Exynos 7420
  • Android 6.0 or later
  • OpenGL 3.1 or higher
  • 4GB of free storage space
  • At least 2GB RAM
