Apex Legends: Vantage Abilities Overview

It has been a good few months since a new Legend was added to the Apex Legends roster. And with all eyes on Apex Legends Mobile and their rapidly growing roster of Legends, it was about time Respawn Entertainment gave the main game some loving.

Apex Legends fans on the PC and console will be getting a new Legend, some critical changes to Kings Canyon, and a slew of balance updates for Season 14, which should keep PC and Console players happy and content for a while.

For now, we have outlined all of Vantage’s abilities and how she can bring value to her team in Apex Legends.

New Legend Vantage

Season 14 marks the debut of Xiaomara “Mara” Contreras, a.k.a, “Vantage,” in Apex Legends. The newest addition to the Apex Legends roster brings powerful long-range abilities and damage buffs to her team.

Passive: Spotter’s Lens

Aim down sights to scout with your eyepiece (unarmed or with mid-long range scopes) and use a bullet drop indicator to see where your shots will land.

Vantage’s passive ability, Spotter’s Lens, allows her to estimate and predict precisely where her shots will land, which can be especially useful for long-range sniper shots.

In addition, Spotter’s Lens gives Vantage key information on any enemy in her sights, such as EVO Shields, Legend Name, and how far they are from Vantage.

Tactical: Echo Relocation

Position your winged companion Echo and then Launch towards him. Must have a line of sight to Echo for Launch.

Echo Relocation is Vantage’s Tactical ability where she sends out her trusty bat companion, Echo, towards a target position. Vantage will launch herself towards Echo’s location by pressing the Tactical Ability button a second time.

Vantage’s Tactical Ability can be very good for quick repositioning or chasing down enemies marked with her Ultimate Ability, which we will discuss below.

Ultimate: Sniper’s Mark

Use your custom sniper to mark enemy targets which apply a damage bonus for you and your team.

With Vantage’s Ultimate Ability, Sniper’s Mark, Vantage can show off her hunter chops, dealing damage, marking enemies, and then dealing even more damage on marked enemies on subsequent shots.

Sniper’s Mark deals 50 damage on the initial hit. After which, tagged targets will become marked with an orange circle whenever they are in Vantage’s line of sight. While enemies are marked, the enemy will receive 50 more damage from Vantage’s special rifle (for a total of 100) and additional damage from Vantage’s teammates.

Aim Down Sights

The new patch’s highlight is undoubtedly Vantage, which is pretty standard for every new Legend release in Apex Legends.

It will only be a matter of time before players find an excellent working role and metagame for Vantage in Apex Legends. With Spotter’s Lens, Echo Relocation, and Sniper’s Mark, Vantage is shaping to be an influential recon-centric Legend that can spot and mark enemies from afar.
