It’s been five years since Metroid Prime 4 was announced, but until now, we have barely gotten any updates on the game. That could be about to change though, as rumors have come up that we could be getting an announcement soon.
Insider Gaming reports that a moderator of the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit that they were sent a message from a prominent Nintendo leaker that read: ‘Do you think everyone is primed and ready?’
While there are suspicions on what the reveal could be, IG does confirm that the very same leaker had revealed accurate scoops for games like Wario Ware, Skyward Sword, and Splatoon 3.
Though it’s been teased that a Metroid Prime announcement is imminent, there is still the question of what game could be announced. Though a lot of fans are hoping that we could get an all-new Samus Aran adventure with Metroid Prime 4, some think that the announcement could just be for a remastered Metroid Prime game—or maybe a remaster of the entire trilogy.
Admittedly, since it’s been five years since we got an update on Metroid 4, it’s possible that Retro Studios has had enough time to actually develop enough of the game that it would be ready to announce. Then again, it would probably be easier for the studio to have spent the time by remastering older games, in order to buy time for Metroid Prime 4.
Until we get an announcement, we’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully we don’t have to wait until February.
