It could be a while before we see another Hellboy movie in theaters, but it looks like the Right Hand of Doom is going to be making a splash in the video game arena.
Thanks to the Game Awards 2022, we have our first look at Hellboy Web of Wyrd, and it’s like a Mike Mignola comic come to life. Check this out:

Hellboy Web of Wyrd is a roguelite action adventure with an original story created in partnership with Dark Horse Comics and creator Mike Mignola. When an agent goes missing, Hellboy investigates. Prepare for monstrous toe-to-toe brawling.
If you’ve read the comics, you’ll know that the style of the trailer pretty much nails Mignola’s signature style. We don’t know what the rest of the game looks like yet, but you can probably check out any comic from Mignola’s Hellboy to get a good idea.
With ‘brawling’ being given an emphasis in the description, it kind of gives the idea that Hellboy will only be using his fists in the game. Though I am all up for the Right Hand of Doom having some insane powers, I was kind of hoping we got to shoot the Samaritan in the game, or at least have some kind of ‘Devil Mode’ complete with flaming sword.
Hopefully developer Upstream Arcade won’t keep us waiting for too long for the next reveal.
No release date has been set for Hellboy Web of Wyrd, but fingers crossed the game releases sometime in 2023.
