While you move through the Baldur’s Gate 3 world, you will find a lot of traps awaiting you. Enemies trying to kill you don’t stop there. You will find that you need to know how to disarm chests, because chests can be rigged with traps as well.
A great chunk of the community has talked about this, many have tried to disarm these traps to no avail. But is there a mechanic for this yet, or it’s still not implemented fully.
Well, we will talk about that, and if it’s true, then we will tell you how to disarm chests in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Remove Traps from Chests – Baldur’s Gate 3
You probably know if you have tried to go close to a trap with a chests, you might get a perception prompt. What’s interesting is that even if you get a perception success, it doesn’t show you anything or give your information about anything.
Unfortunately, disarming traps hasn’t yet been implemented in the game. Seems like the developers have thought of this option, but stopped halfway. Nevertheless, since the bones of the mechanics are already added, we might see its addition soon.
Even though this is true, you can come up with more creative ways to do this. This is how to disarm chests creatively in Baldur’s Gate 3:
Look around the chest and see if you can find the perpetrator, i.e. the trap. For example, outside the druid area there is a hidden chest with an oil barrel trap.
To remove the trap, try to move the barrels far away from the chest and proceed to open the chest. It’s as simple as that. Most of the chest will be similarly rigged as this one.
The disarm skill doesn’t yet work, but we are very optimistic than it’s close to be added to the game. Until then, we will have to find creative ways like this to disarm traps. Good luck!
