There are what are called “Buns” in Bravely Default 2. They play a huge part in the game, but are very rare, and chances of getting many are slim to none. The main purpose for these is to increase certain stats of characters, permanently. One of the most overpowered buns in the game right now is the Speed bun. It has a lot of uses, and leveling up your characters’ speed is crucial.
Other than that, it is relatively broken at the moment, and you will end up with extremely speedy characters, if you play your cards right.
How to Farm Speed Buns (Early Game) – Bravely Default 2
By early, we mean the second chapter in the game, because that is when you’re going to acquire the Thief job, which is the best for farming these buns.
So, when you acquire the Thief job, make sure that you get it up to level 12. It doesn’t have to be on all characters, but if you want the fastest way to get speed buns, then consider putting it on all of your characters.
What is next after the Thief job? Well, to farm the speed buns in Bravely Default 2, you will need to use the Magpie and Rob Blind abilities from the Thief job.
The reason why both of these are exceptional for farming speed buns is because of the following:
- Magpie – 25% chance to acquire rare items whenever stealing.
- Rob Blind – Gives you a chance to get two items at once when stealing.
On top of these two abilities, you can also use the special ability – Shakedown. It gives you a guarantee to steal an item whenever you do a powerful physical attack against your enemies.
This is by no means essential, but does give you a bit of an edge when farming for speed buns. The main issue is that you will have to have the crystals for the characters unlocked, which usually happens later on in the game.
Now, the enemies that you will need to steal from are the Brimstone Stallions. They’re fiery horses, that spawn just north of the starting town in Bravely Default.
Initiate a fight with these mobs, and then steal as much as possible. There are good chances that you will walk away with at least 2-3 speed buns.
