Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in olden times in the Pokemon world when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in the Hisui region, modern-day Sinnoh, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every Hisui Region Pokemon Species to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.

How to Catch a Hisuian Lilligant in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

The game has certain Pokemon that the player cannot catch in the wild. The player can only obtain these Pokemon through evolution. One of these Pokemon is the Hisuian Lilligant. In this guide, you will learn how to catch a Hisuian Lilligant!

Petilil to Hisuian Lilligant

The Hisuian Lilligant is a Grass and Fighting-Type Pokemon, and the Hisuian version of Lilligant was introduced in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Compared to the regular Unovan Lilligant, the Hishuian Lilligant’s build is thinner, with a few color and leaf size variations all over its body. The Hisuian Lilligant also has long and powerful legs that are suspected of having developed because of living in the snowy mountains of Hisui. The flower on the Hisuian Lilligant’s head releases a scent that causes anyone nearby to experience a heartened feeling.

As mentioned above, unfortunately, the player cannot find the Hisuian Lilligant in the wild and the player can only catch it through evolution. To evolve a Petilil to a Hisuian LIlligant, the player must use a Sun Stone on Petilil. To do that, the player must first know where to find a Petilil.

The player can find a Petilil north of Cottonsedge Prairie and slightly northeast of the Holm of Trials in the Crimson Mirelands. The player can find a Petilil in these locations at all times of the day and in every weather condition.

If you plan on distracting it with food before catching it, it is worth mentioning that Petilil’s preferred foods are Springy Mushrooms and Crunchy Salts.

If you plan on battling Petilil first before catching it. In that case, it is worth noting that Petilil is a Grass-type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to Bug-type, Fire-type, Flying-type, Ice-type, Poison-type moves (super effective) and resistance to Electric-type, Grass-type, Ground-type, and Water-type moves (not very effective).

Now that the player has caught a Petilil, all that is needed to evolve a Petilil to a Hisuian Lilligant is a Sun Stone. There are many ways that the player can obtain a Sun Stone:

Sun Stone can be dug up from treasure buried on the ground by riding the rideable Ursaluna. However, the locations where Ursaluna can dig up Black Augurite is random.

Also, the player may obtain Sun Stone by breaking Tumblestone Ores that are shaking. Breaking these shaking ores, however, will result in a Pokemon like Geodude or Graveler popping out and battling the player.

Additionally, the player can purchase a Sun Stone for 5,000 Pokemon Dollars from Ginter at the Gingko Guild Shop between the Galaxy Hall and the player’s headquarters. However, Ginter will call it a Sunlike Rock. Unfortunately, the items that the Gingko Guild Merchants sell are not the same all the time so purchasable items may vary. To change the items that Ginter is selling, the player must first catch 20 Pokemon.

The player can purchase a Sun Stone from the Trading Post near the Training Grounds for 1,000 Merit Points. The player can earn Merit Points by returning lost satchels all over the Hisui region.

Other than that, the player may find some Sun Stone on the ground inside of Space-Time Distortions, so check out the items inside them.

Finally, Hisuian Lilligant!

After catching a Petilil and obtaining a Sun Stone, the player can now evolve Petilil into a Hisuian Lilligant!

To do that, this is what the player must do:

  1. Put the player’s Petilil in the Player’s party by talking to the Galaxy Member near the tent on any of the Base Camps, selecting “I want to see my Pokemon” on the prompt, or heading to the Pastures in the eastern part of Jubilife Village.
  2. Then, ensure that the Sun Stone is in the player’s Satchel. If not, the player can access the Item Storage in any of the Base Camps or the Item Storage near the Front Gate in the northeastern part of Jubilife City and move the Black Augurite to the player’s Satchel.
  3. Next, return to the game and press the up directional button to open the player’s Satchel.
  4. Select the Sun Stone, select “Use” on the prompt, and then select Petilil from the player’s party. Well, use the Sun Stone on Petilil.
  5. Confirm on the prompt to evolve Petilil. Then just like that, Petilil will evolve into a Hisuian Lilligant!

Now that the player has a Hisuian Lilligant, the player can now try to use the Hisuian Lilligant to complete other requests, complete missions, or complete Arceus’ task for the player which is to catch ‘em all!
