Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in the old times in the Pokemon world at a time when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in the land of the Hisui region, known as modern-day Sinnoh, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every species of Pokémon from the Hisui region to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.
The Galaxy Team will task the player to do missions in the game. Additionally, various people will also ask for help from the player requests. One of these requests is Request 39, titled ‘All About Magikarp.’ In this guide, you will learn how to complete the ‘All About Magikarp’ request.
All About Magikarp
The player must first encounter or catch a Magikarp and add it to the player’s Pokedex to unlock this request.
After that, you can now start this request! To do just that, head to the open space in front of the Galaxy Hall during the day, and there you will see a little girl in red and yellow clothing named Ceci. Talk to Ceci, and she will ask the player about the Pokemon statue at the top of the Galaxy Hall. She will then ask several questions about the Magikarp, like what it does and if it can fly. She is very curious about the Magikarp, and she will then ask you to show her once the player is done with Magikarp’s entry in the player’s Pokedex. Then, just like that, the ‘All About Magikarp’ request has started!
To complete this request, and as previously mentioned, the player must complete Magikarp’s Pokedex entry by getting it to Research Level 10 and show it to Ceci.
Magikarp can be found in the Obsidian Fieldlands (Lake Verity, the waters east of Oreburrow Tunnel, and the waters west of Worn Bridge) and the Coronet Highlands (the waters of Fabled Spring). Magikarps can be found in these locations at all times of day and in every weather condition.
The fastest way to complete Magikarp’s Pokedex entry is by catching six of them and feeding four of them with food. The player can even do these simultaneously to save, well, time by feeding them with food first before catching them. This can help complete Magikarp’s Pokedex entry fast as catching six Magikarps raises the Research Level to six (Research Level is raised by two when catching one, then three, then six), and feeding four of them food adds four more Research Levels (Research Level is raised by one each time a Magikarp is fed berries) which would bring it Research Level 10! Speaking of feeding Magikarp food, their preferred foods are Hearty Grains and Plump Beans.
After completing Magikarp’s Pokedex entry and getting it to Research Level 10, head back to Ceci, still in the open space outside the Galaxy Hall in Jubilife Village, and talk to her. She will then look at Magikarp’s Pokedex entry then, after that, she will call herself a Magikarp professor as she now knows all about Magikarp. Next, because the player did something for her, she will tell the player about a secret Sanqua told her: Sanqua made the Magikarp statues at the top of the Galaxy Hall. Still, she wanted to make Gyarados statues instead as they are strong, cool, and can fly. Then, finally, Ceci will reward the player with one Rare Candy for your efforts.
Now that you have completed the ‘All About Magikarp’ request, you can try to complete other requests, complete missions, or complete Arceus’ task for you, which is to catch ‘em all!
