Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set in the old times in the Pokemon world when it was rare to find harmony between people and Pokemon. Set in the land of the Hisui region, known as the Sinnoh region in modern times, you will join the Galaxy Expedition Team (or just Galaxy Team for short) as a member of the Survey Corps stationed in Jubilife Village. You will be tasked to meet every species of Pokémon from the Hisui region to complete the region’s first-ever Pokédex.

How to Complete the What It Takes to Be Awesome Request (Request 5) in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

The Galaxy Team will task the player to do missions in the game. Additionally, various people will also ask for help from the player in requests. One of these requests is Request 5, titled ‘What It Takes to Be Awesome.’ This guide will learn how to complete the What It Takes to Be Awesome request.

What It Takes to Be Awesome

To unlock this request, the player must first receive the ‘A Request from Mai’ Mission (the fifth mission), wherein the player visits the Training Grounds for the first time and battles Akari or Rei. Then, after that, reset the area by leaving Jubilife Village then entering again. You will see a few new requests available in the village after that.

To start the What It Takes to Be Awesome request, go to the spot beside the Clothier, and under a tree, you will find two kids named Sho and Waka. However, if you have not started this request early in the game and there is already a house beside the Clothier, you can find Sho and Waka on the southeast side of the village in the middle of the houses on the right side and the Pastures. Upon talking to Sho, he will ask you a trick question about what you need to do to be a super awesome member of the Galaxy Team, with neither of the choices on the prompt being correct. He will then tell you that what you need is a partner Pokemon as, according to him, having a partner Pokemon is like being as strong as 100 people. With this, he will tell you that he has been practicing throwing balls, and he now thinks that it’s time to practice with real Poke Balls. Then, as the player is part of the Galaxy Team’s Survey Corp, and you probably have a lot of them, he will ask you for a few Poke Balls. To finish this request, you must give Sho five Poke Balls.

If you have five Poke Balls to spare, you can give it straight to him. However, if you do not, you can buy Poke Balls for 100 Pokemon Dollars each (a total of 500 Pokemon Dollars if you buy five Poke Balls) from the General Store and the Base Camp or for 10 Merit Points (a total of 50 Merit Points if you buy five Poke Balls) from the Trading Post. Either that or you can craft some Poke Balls, so you don’t have to spend a single Pokemon Dollar!

Fortunately, the recipe for crafting Poke Balls will be given to you early on in the game after the Galaxy Team’s Entry Trial. You need to craft one Poke Ball is, one Apricorn, and one Tumblestone. These crafting materials can be purchased, but, fortunately, they can just be found all around the overworld, so you do not have to spend a single Pokemon dollar. However, if you do not have time to farm for items, the option to purchase them is still there.

As stated previously, to obtain some Apricorn, you can find Apricorn trees all over the Hisui region but specifically in these zones: Obsidian Fieldlands, Alabaster Icelands, Cobalt Coastlands, Coronet Highlands, and Crimson Mirelands. There are three Apricorn trees northwest of Horseshoe Plains in Obsidian Fieldlands, and you can obtain at least fifteen Apricorns from this zone alone. To get Apricorn from Apricorn trees, you would need the help of your Pokemon. To do this, aim and throw one of your Pokemon to a tree then your Pokemon will come out and strike the tree to harvest the Apricorn. The selected Pokemon will also gain experience in helping out.

After catching or defeating Pokemon, Apricorn can also be obtained, specifically Starly, Staravia, Staraptor, and Kricketot. Alternatively, it is possible to purchase Apricorn for 40 Pokemon Dollars in the Craftworks by talking to Anvin.

To obtain some Tumblestone, you need to find rust-colored stones all over the Hisui region. To get Tumblestones from these rocks, you would also need the help of one of your Pokemon. You can also do this by throwing out one of your Pokemon, and your Pokemon will come out to strike the rocks and harvest the Tumblestone! You can obtain at least ten Tumblestones in the Horseshoe Plains at Obsidian Fieldlands alone.

Tumblestones can also be obtained after catching or defeating Pokemon, specifically Geodude, Graveler, Machop, Machoke, Golem, and Magikarp. Alternatively, you can also purchase Tumblestone from Anvin in the Craftworks for 60 Pokemon Dollars.

After you have the necessary crafting materials, go to the Craftworks in Jubilife Village, the workbench in the Base Camp, or, if your crafting materials are just in your Satchel, the Crafting Kit in your Inventory and start crafting some Poke Balls!

Now that you have a few Poke Balls to spare, go back to Sho, and give him the five Poke Balls, and he will reward you with three Grit Dust for your efforts.
