Crash Bandicoot  has gotten a fresh new look with the release of It’s About Time back in 2020, and it looks like Activision is ready for another take on the Crash franchise with the official reveal of Crash Team Rumble.

Crash Team Rumble Officially Revealed

Watch this:

Here’s the official description:

Play as Crash, Dingodile, and a host of other heroes and villains from the Crash universe and strategically leverage each character’s distinct personality and playstyle. Rumbles will take place across wild and varied arenas in 4v4, team-based, online multiplayer action. Players slide, smash, bump, and bash their way to victory against the other teams to battle it out to drop off the most Wumpa fruit in their team’s bank.

While I was expecting something that looked like Super Smash Bros. or Overwatch, it looks like Crash Team Rumble will adapt the platformer format of It’s About Time, only this time, players can be fighting in teams, and they’ll be jumping around more contained maps.

The Crash franchise is just filled to the brim with all kinds of kooky characters, and though we have a roster of heroes and villains showcased in the trailer, I think there’s a lot of room for the game to keep adding characters down the line. I’d especially love to see characters from the N. Sane trilogy revamped in the style of the Toys for Bob reboot.

For more information on the game, you can check out the official Activision blog here.

Crash Team Rumble is set to release sometime in 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 4|5.
