A lot of fans are excited for the release of The Callisto Protocol later this year, but the granddaddy of sci-fi horror Dead Space is working on its remake for next year.
Updates on the game have been sparse, but we are getting a gameplay reveal tomorrow that will bring us back to the doomed ship of the USG Ishimura. Watch this:
While the game would have been perfect for a release this Halloween, I guess the drop of a teaser is the best we can get for now. Just like The Last of Us remake, this version of the game promises to be a top-to-bottom update on Dead Space, and will feature all new kinds of mechanics that will make the game stand beside modern AAA titles.
If anything, this remake could relaunch the Dead Space franchise from its dormant state. Though the first two games were huge critical hits, the sequels that followed kind of put the franchise Dead Space in a state of obscurity. Fingers crossed that this remake will launch a whole new batch of Dead Space games filled with sci-fi scares and visions of body horror.
You are Isaac Clarke, an engineer on the spacecraft USG Ishimura. You’re not a warrior. You’re not a soldier. You are, however, the last line of defense for the remaining living crew.
The Dead Space remake is set to come out Jan. 27, 2023 for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
