How To Deal With Barber in Lethal Company

Want to know how to deal with Barber in Lethal Company? Barbers, also known as Clay Surgeons, are a new entity introduced in Lethal Company. They are easily identified by their faceless humanoid form and the giant scissors they carry. These entities move and attack in rhythm with the beat of a master barber. They’re immortal and remain invisible when far from the player, but they become visible once an employee is close enough.

Fortunately, despite being immune to attacks, Clay Surgeons can be easily avoided once you understand their mechanics.

How to Deal with Barber in Lethal Company

Like common entities in Lethal Company, the Clay Surgeon has two phases: Roaming and Following. Despite their ability to turn invisible, players can easily avoid and survive Clay Surgeon’s attacks by listening for their sound cues.

Roaming

During the roaming phase, the Clay Surgeons have the same search routine as most entities in the facility, wandering back and forth between different areas.

Roaming Behavior:

  • Invisible from the distance.
  • Easily noticed by the sound of a snare being played.
  • The louder the sound gets, the closer they are.
  • Barbers leap towards their destination at set intervals, starting 2.75 seconds early in the day. However, their speed increases as the day progresses, with the interval shortening to a maximum of 1.25 seconds by 11 P.M.
  • At the sound of a snare build-up, Clay Surgeon makes a target of its next destination and then Jumps at the snare hit.

Following

In Lethal Company, Barbers begin pursuing an employee once they’re fully visible and the employee is right in front of them. They continue jumping at set intervals, but now their leaps are directed toward the targeted employee.

Following Behavior:

  • At the snare build-up, the Barber focuses on the employee target and then leaps at the snare hit.
  • Employees who aren’t able to dodge the jump will be instantly killed.
  • The Barber will continue pursuing the employee even if they move out of range, but will stop after six jumps and revert to the roaming phase.

Strategy

Here’s the best strategy to deal with Barber in Lethal Company:

  • Conserve Stamina – Once you hear the Barber, move cautiously and conserve your stamina. The louder the sound, the closer they are. Remember, the Barber will set you as a target once they become fully visible in your line of sight.
  • Use the snare sound as an indicator that the Clay Surgeon is charging up for a lunge. Time your movements to avoid their attack.
  • Close the Door – The key to surviving a Clay Surgeon encounter is locking it inside a room. Since their hands are fully occupied with a massive scissor, they are unable to open doors.

Occurrence Chance

Unlike the Maneater or Cave Dweller, the Barber does not have an increased chance of spawning when the moon has a specific interior. Below is a table outlining the base chances of a Clay Surgeon spawn:
