The Algorithm of Semi-Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network is a normal world boss in Genshin Impact that was introduced and released as part of the Version 3.1 update of the game. This perpetual-motion device, known as a Primal Construct, is originally from an ancient civilization that now lies buried beneath the sands.
Contents
The Matrix of Overseer Network is a mechanical beast that was once developed, constructed, and favored by the Scarlet King, hides still within the great searing storm.
This great Primal Construct rules over the many constructs scattered throughout the desert. And it seems that the will of its lonely ruler, the fallen King Deshret, still indwells this device.
Location
The Algorithm of the Semi-Intransient Matrix of the Overseer Network can be found in the desert area of Sumeru. Specifically, it dwells within The Dune of Elusion in the Hypostyle Desert, which is the southwestern part of the Dendro nation.
There is a teleport waypoint right at the entrance of the half-buried structure, which you can simply auto-travel to.
Once there, go inside until you get to a seemingly empty arena. Stepping onto the said platform, the ancient mechanical beast will reveal itself and attack you.
Special Mechanics
Invisible State
Throughout the battle, the Matrix will enter an invisible state to avoid getting hit and summon some of its Parts to attack its behalf. As it becomes invisible, the Matrix will immediately teleport a few meters forward in the direction that it is facing. A few seconds later, it will start to move around and periodically stop near its parts slowly.
After entering the invisible state, the Matrix will gain 200% Resistance to all kinds of attacks and then summon 2 pairs of Parts of two different types. These parts will attack the players and can also take damage, eventually destroying them.
The types of Parts that may be summoned are the following:
- Repulsor Parts: Thes parts chase the player and deal 50% ATK as Physical Damage on contact.
- Reshaper Parts: This type will be summoned from above and deals 50% ATK as AOE Physical Damage upon landing. When two Repulsor parts are summoned together with the Reshaper parts, an energized beam will form between them, which deals 20% ATK as Physical Damage to players that come in contact with it.
- Prospector Parts: These parts will periodically fire an energy beam at the player, which deals 50% ATK as Physical Damage.
The summoned Parts each have HP that is equal to 10% of the Matrix’s Max HP. They also slowly lose HP over time and will be destroyed after 60 seconds without taking DMG from an external source. When one of these parts is destroyed, the Matrix enters its Recovery State.
Despite not being seen, the current position of the invisible Matrix can still be identified with the help of abilities that automatically targets the opponent. Such abilities include Fischl’s Nightrider and Yae Miko’s Yakan Evocation: Sesshou Sakura. Alternatively, you can apply a debuff to the Matrix, and the debuff indicator will remain visible.
Being able to locate the invisible Matrix is especially helpful so you can attack it and directly trigger the Quicken Elemental Reaction on it in order to paralyze it without the need to destroy the summoned Parts.
Recovery State
In this State, the Algorithm of the Semi-Intransient Matrix will attempt to repair its broken Parts and then reveal itself. Hitting the Parts using Electro during this Recovery State will immediately end the Invisible State and paralyze the Matrix for a period of time. While being repaired, the Parts are infused with Dendro, allowing Bloom or Burning to be triggered.
With the nature of both States of this world bosses, it is recommended to include characters that use Dendro, Electro, Hydro, and Pyro in your team when facing it. This is so that it will be easier for you to trigger the required Elemental Reaction for the Matrix’s
Attack Abilities
Laser Chamber
After detecting your presence in its lair, the Matrix will mark the area in front of it and summon laser beams that will shoot randomly in a changed form. This attack will only be done once at the start of the battle.
Repel
For this attack, the Matrix will create a force shield and then use it to push the player away. It will deal 40% ATK as Physical Damage on hit. This attack is used after the Matrix has recovered from being paralyzed.
Exploding Drill
The Matrix can fire out some of its parts in the shape of a bolt that strikes down at the player’s location. It will then drill into the ground dealing 50% ATK and 70% ATK as AOE Physical Damage. After a short time, the drill will explode, and the parts will return to the Matrix.
This attack is also used after recovering from a paralyzed state.
Laser Beam
This attack move will have the Matrix charge up for a short time and then shoot a large energy beam in front of it. Getting hit will deal 100% ATK as Physical Damage to the player. This ability is one of the attack moves that the Matrix uses after recovering from a paralyzed state.
Tracking Laser
The Matrix will lock onto the player and fire a continuous beam of laser that will follow the player for a few seconds. It deals 70% ATK as Physical Damage, and staying hit will have you take that amount of damage multiple times. The Matrix uses this attack move if the player destroys a part but fails to hit it with an Electro Attack during the recovery state.
Laser Barrage
With this ability, the Matrix will fire many smaller laser beams toward the ground in front of it, which deals 50% ATK as Physical Damage. This attack is also used if the player destroys a part but fails to hit it with an Electro Attack during the recovery state.
Missile Blast
For this attack, the Matrix will use some of its parts and spin them like a drill in front of it. After gathering enough energy, the part will be shot like a large missile toward the player, which can deal 100% ATK as Physical Damage. This attack move is one of those that the Matrix will perform if the player destroys a part but fails to hit it with an Electro Attack during the recovery state.
Overloading Blast
If the Matrix stays in its Invisible State for too long, it moves to the center and reveals itself to enter its Overloaded State. It will then gather all of its Parts and draw energy before releasing a large shockwave that expands outwards, covering the entire arena. The blast will deal 100% ATK as Physical Damage.
Following the powerful explosion, the Matrix will become paralyzed for a period of time.
While in the process of charging up energy, the parts will be infused with Dendro, which allows Bloom or Burning to be triggered. Hitting these Parts with Electro Attacks while in this state will immediately paralyze the Matrix and cancel the attack move.
